- Next general comment on children’s rights to access to justice and effective remedies – At the 95th session (January 2024), the Committee on the Rights of the Child decided to draft a general comment No. 27 on children’s rights to access to justice and effective remedies. - The Government of Canada introduces Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act “to combat harmful content online, including the sexual exploitation of children”. - Protection Through Online Participation (PoP) initiative co-led by the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children (SRSG-VAC) Office to help children and young people access resources, safety, and protection online, when at risk of experiencing any form of harm (in-person or online). This initiative aims to draft a set of recommendations to adopt and make such helpful information easily accessible. Children and young people can access a 5-10 minute anonymous survey to help shape their understanding. The survey can be found here.
