The Committee on the Rights of the Child is seeking contributions from all interested stakeholders on the draft of the general comment. The Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children (CCRC) submitted its report (August 22, 2024) to the Committee on the Rights of the Child for General Comment No. 27 addressing the serious obstacles and struggles that children in Canada face while trying to access justice and effective remedies when their rights have been violated. Input/comments may be sent by e-mail. They must be received by 30 June 2025 at 18:00 Geneva time .
All submissions:
- Should provide concrete suggestions on specific paragraphs of the general comment;
- Should be in one concise document and must not exceed 2,500 words, inclusive of all footnotes, endnotes, source citations, cover pages and any other text without exception;
- Will not be accepted if they do not follow the requirements;
- Will not be translated;
- Will be posted on the CRC webpage devoted to this draft general comment.
No submissions received after the deadline will be considered or posted on the webpage.
