A Message from Outgoing CCRC Chair – Hala Mreiwed

Dear CCRC members and friends,

As I conclude my tenure at the Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Board of Directors (past and present), Terence Hamilton (past CCRC Co-Chair), the CCRC members, partners, supporters, children’s rights advocates and civil society organizations. I am grateful for the trust, support, commitment, dialogue, and collaboration during the past six years in my roles as Secretary of the Board, Vice-Chair, Co-Chair and Chair.

I leave the CCRC with gratitude and hope that children’s rights become a reality. It is essential now more than ever for children’s rights advocates and organizations to firmly stand together calling on all governments to act ensuring that children’s rights are fully implemented nationally and internationally. As a children’s rights advocate, educator, and researcher, I will continue to advocate for the prioritization and implementation of children’s rights, children’s rights education, respect for and participation of children in planning, policies, legislations, and all matters that concern them, and for equitable, accessible and culturally appropriate services and resources across all sectors.

I am pleased to introduce the new leadership who I am confident will carry the CCRC’s mission forward, Olivia Lecoufle as Chair and Danielle Dionne as Vice-Chair alongside the Board of Directors. You can reach out to them at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Hala Mreiwed, PhD
