Here are some activities to ensure children can provide input in the development of the General Comment 26 of the Committee on the Rights of the Child on the environment.
After intensive consultations, the committee as just released the report on the children’s questionnaire: Reports | General Comment No. 26 on Children’s Rights and the Environment (childrightsenvironment.org) – covering the lived experiences and opinions of more than 7000 children from 103 countries! The report will feed into the first draft of the GC to be published by the Committee in November 2022. This draft is open for consultation with children during Nov. 22- Feb. 2023 – which gives another opportunity to facilitate children’s participation in shaping the development of the GC.
