We are looking for young people interested in being researchers!

Researchers from King’s University College at Western, McGill University, and the University of Edinburgh, in partnership with the Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children (CCRC), would like to invite children entering grades 7, 8 and 9 from Ontario to participate in a qualitative participatory action research (PAR) project in which the children are also the researchers. The project is funded by the Partnership Engage Grant (PEG) of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The research will explore the impact of peer-to-peer relationships on children’s ability/opportunity to exercise their agency (the right to freely express their views, have their views listened to and be involved in matters that affect them), and their experiences of personal and social development.

Please note that there will be 5 child researchers from Ontario and 5 from Quebec.

For more information or if you are interested, please contact Dr. Hala Mreiwed at hmreiwed@uwo.ca for the Ontario site and Dr. Mindy Carter at mindy.carter@mcgill.ca for the Quebec site by July 21, 2022.
