Since 1954, November 20th marks the celebration of World Children's Day - a day to educate and raise awareness on children rights and to reflect on how children's rights are implemented. In this spirit, the CCRC is happy to share events that will take place to mark the occasion.

Stop the War on Children: Child Rights and Canadian Accountability

Canada has played a pivotal role in contributing to the development of international legal standards and has signed and ratified most international treaties and declarations of relevance to child rights and children in armed conflict. Bringing together academia, civil society, government and the UN, the event will serve as an opportunity to call for renewed Canadian leadership for children’s rights and discuss recommendations for practical action by this new government, as part of its commitment to multilateralism, the rules-based order, peace and promoting Canadian values on the global stage.

Announcing the launch of the LPC Youth Art Contest. This art contest calls for artists to explore the theme of “Freedom of Expression and Identity”. The LPC would greatly appreciate your support in helping to share information about the art contest. Their goal is to reach as many young people as possible. Lastly, to support the young artists the LPC has created a future funders campaign. The funds will be allocated for three primary purposes: awarding prizes, supporting student engagement and contributing to the art exhibit that will serve as a centerpiece for the Centre's 20th anniversary celebration. The Childhood Disability Participation and Knowledge Translation Collaborative

Join the National Townhall to discuss how we can promote the well-being of children and youth with disabilities in Canada!

You are invited to join researchers, policymakers, families, and organizations for a national conversation on how Canada measures and supports the wellbeing of children and youth with disabilities! This virtual Town Hall on the Child National Day, November 20, 2025 (1–3 p.m. ET) will present the CHILD Framework for measuring child and youth well-being and prompt participants’ ideas to generate collaboration across sectors and explore ways to improve the use of data to inform inclusive policy and action. Your insights and experiences are essential to this dialogue, and we would be delighted to have you join us. Register: Town Hall Registration Link ASL interpretation will be provided. Discussions will take place in English with opportunity for contributions in French as needed.
