“Advancing Child-Centred Justice: Preventing and Responding to Violence Affecting Children in Child Justice Systems”. The 5th World Congress on Justice With Children will emphasise on the critical need for justice systems to place children at the centre while addressing and preventing escalating violence and systemic challenges that jeopardise their safety and development worldwide. There are many events taking place in Spain, around the world and in Canada. June 2 (hybrid event): "Seeking Justice with Children: Canada’s Experience" (official satellite event by the CCRC, JFCY, GRIDE). This national panel will address the policy reform needed to ensure that children know their rights, and have access to justice and effective remedies when their rights have been violated in Canada.

June 3 (hybrid event): International Forum: "Access to Justice and the Rights of the Child: Local and Global". It aims to share innovative approaches, knowledge and evidence from research, practice and lived experience to stimulate action.

Location: In-person at the Université de Moncton; Online: via MS Teams

Registration to attend the 2-day hybrid event is free but must be made HERE by May 25, 2025; Satellite event presentations will be in English & Forum presentations will be in English and French. There is no simultaneous translation.

June 4 (in-person): "Children’s Rights At Risk? Justice Dynamics For Children Involved In Crime" / Droits de l’enfant en danger? Dynamiques de justice pour les enfants impliqués dans la criminalité (official satellite event by the International Bureau for Children's Rights). This event will bring together international experts as well as key stakeholders from Quebec’s criminal justice system and child rights sectors. It will offer a space for collective discussion on concrete actions and priorities to ensure access to a justice system that is both appropriate and respectful of the rights of children involved in criminal matters, locally and globally.
