Recent website security breach
Recently, there was a security breach on our website, rightsofchildren.ca. Our investigation has concluded that while there is no evidence that our email subscriber list was stolen, it is possible that newsletter subscriber email addresses were copied and could potentially be used for spam. Fortunately, most spam filters should be able to catch these attempts. Please be assured that donations to the CCRC are processed through CanadaHelps, and no payment information is stored on our systems; therefore, it remains completely unaffected by this incident. To enhance our website security, we have implemented additional safeguards, including migrating to secure website hosting and implementing various security layers and best practices. We take data privacy and security very seriously and are committed to protecting your information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding.

“Because I said so” op-ed by Sarah Niman, counsel representing the CCRC
Saskatchewan’s top court will rule on whether a gender identity disclosure law violates children’s Charter rights– but the ruling won’t change anything. That’s because even if the court declares that the law is cruel and usual punishment, contrary to the Charter, the law will continue to apply because the provincial government invoked the notwithstanding clause.

In November 2024, the Youth Secretariat launched the online engagement process for Canada’s second State of Youth Report. If you are between the ages of 16 and 29, the Youth Secretariat wants to hear from you! This engagement process is your opportunity to share your experiences, challenges and priorities so that Canada’s second State of Youth Report reflect what matters most to you.The deadline for completing the online engagement has been extended until March 16th, 2025.
